When we think of anti-ageing, our minds often go straight to skincare products, hoping for a magic fix. As we grow older, the foods we choose can greatly affect our appearance and quality of life. From the moment we are born, our bodies rely on various nutrients to support development and the natural ageing process. Youthful skin has a smooth epidermis (the top layer of skin, made of dead cells) and a fast cell turnover rate of around 21 days. Aged skin, however, has a thinning, flattening epidermis, and cell turnover slows to around 50 days.

It’s important to note that eating one specific food won’t make you instantly look younger. Nutrition is only one piece of the puzzle when it comes to ageing well and supporting a healthy lifestyle.
